What you see in the Lagna chart
The left chart is your natal Lagna chart in the standard North Indian diamond layout. It shows where each of the nine grahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu) sat in the zodiac at the moment of your birth, mapped to whole-sign houses from your Ascendant. The exact degree, sign, and nakshatra-pada are visible for each planet. Retrograde planets are marked with R. The Ascendant degree itself is shown above the chart so you know your Lagna sign accurately to the minute.
What the transit chart adds
The right chart overlays where the same planets are sitting in the sky on any chosen date, mapped to the classical Chandra Lagna house system (your Moon sign becomes the 1st house). This is the framework Brihat Samhita and Phaladeepika prescribe for reading transits, called Gochar Phal. Use the date picker to scrub forward up to a year and watch how Saturn, Jupiter, and the Nodes move through the houses that govern career, relationships, and health for you specifically.

How accurate is the Birth Chart Analyzer?+
Planetary positions are computed via Swiss Ephemeris, the same library used by professional astrology software like Jagannatha Hora and Parashara Light. Accuracy is to within fractions of an arc-second for the seven classical planets and within 0.05 degrees for the lunar nodes. Your Ascendant precision depends entirely on the birth-time precision you provide. A 4-minute clock error can shift the Lagna by one degree.
Why do I need an exact birth time? Can I estimate?+
Birth time determines the Ascendant, and the Ascendant determines every house assignment in the chart. A wrong time of even 10 minutes can move the Ascendant across a sign boundary, which changes the lord of every house and reshapes the entire reading. What house system do you use?+
Whole-sign houses, the classical Vedic system. Your Lagna sign becomes the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on counterclockwise. This is what Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and every major classical text use, and it matches what Vedic astrologers in India read on a daily basis. We do not use Placidus, Koch, or other Western cusp-based systems.

Why does my chart look different from a Western astrology chart?+
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac (tied to seasons) while Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (tied to fixed stars). The two zodiacs currently differ by approximately 24 degrees due to the precession of the equinoxes. A planet at 20 degrees Sagittarius tropical sits at approximately 26 degrees Scorpio sidereal. The same chart computed in both systems will show completely different sign placements. Our analyzer uses sidereal Lahiri, which is the Vedic standard.
